Our take
I've been using the Samsung ViewFinity S50GC for a mix of work and light gaming, and for $160 it's a solid ultrawide. The 3440x1440 resolution gives plenty of screen real estate, and the 21:9 ratio is great for productivity. The 100Hz refresh rate feels smoother than 60Hz, though the 5ms response time isn't ideal for fast-paced shooters. Colors are decent, and the VA panel's 3000:1 contrast makes blacks look deep. I appreciate the PiP/PbP features for multitasking. On the downside, it's not curved, so you might notice some edge distortion. Also, the 300 cd/m² brightness is adequate but not for HDR. Overall, a good budget ultrawide for everyday use.
